Colleen A. Rieck - June 25, 1956 - April 16, 2020

Colleen was born in St. Paul, MN on June 25, 1956, to Arthur and Audrey Coughlin. She grew up in Chisago City and graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 1974. On April 16th, 2020 at the tender age of 29 (don't do the math) she was offered an opportunity she couldn't refuse. At home, with family at her bedside, she reunited with her original cast of players from this life. Words fail to capture the time this incredible woman has spent on this earth. She loved life. She was spontaneous, kind-hearted, quick-witted, and adventurous.

Part of her first act in life involved marrying her one-and-only, Dan, on June 30, 1978, living in Southern California and traveling by motorcycle all throughout the country. She discovered a love for the Black Hills of South Dakota and enjoyed panning for gold in Spearfish Canyon.

Part of her second act in life centered around her children and close friends. She was a devoted mother and friend to many. She was a champion of the underdog and anyone down on their luck. She was the most selfless woman we have ever known, especially when it came to those she loved dearly. She loved the long summer days with warm nights and walking barefoot through the grass. She always had the best advice and knew exactly what to say and when to say it. We have learned many things from her over the years, not the least of which include: There is nothing a good Springsteen or Elton song can't fix, anything can be burned with a little (or a lot of) gasoline, a razor blade is a multi-purpose tool, and most of the time it's better to ask for forgiveness than for permission (or better yet, just keep your mouth shut). She felt plans were antagonistic to freedom, so choose them wisely. She would want everyone to know that life is meant to be tasted so do not spend too much time entertaining the things that make you unhappy, you may be missing out on the main event. Spend your time doing what you love and enjoy the time you have with loved ones. All of our love mom, we know you're in great company but you are unbelievably missed. Baby you were born to run.

Colleen is survived by her daughter Nikki Rieck, son Trevor Rieck, and brother Barry Coughlin.
Colleen is preceded in death by her father Arthur Coughlin, mother Audrey Coughlin, brother Michael Coughlin, and husband Dan Rieck.

Colleen requested no services or gatherings to be held. Fortunately for her, her attendance is not required. A memorial event will be set at a later date where the days are long, the nights are warm and there is good company to be found.
